Dating a snorer
There are many good reasons to treat snoring, including restoring sleep quality, guarding against risks to health, and improving daytime functioning.
Protecting the health and intimacy of your relationship is another important reason to treat a snoring problem.
Lack of sleep can make us irritable and short-tempered.
Clearly, most people are forgiving when it comes to snoring—whether it’s their own or someone else’s.
But in addition to the health issues mentioned, snoring can create some strain in a relationship.
And so it is unfortunate that of those who snore, only 27% plan to do something about it.
Our survey also found that 43% worry about their snoring disrupting the sleep of others, but only 19% worry that their snoring might affect their future with a potential love interest.
Whatever the reason, snoring may not bother your potential partner, but it should still be taken seriously since it can signal a serious health issue such as sleep apnea and even the increased likelihood of stroke and heart disease.
